Let us begin with the royal bride, Sharmila Tagore. She broke her fans’ hearts when she got married to cricketer and the Nawab of Pataudi, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. She wore a stunning golden coloured gharara for her nikah. It was the same outfit that her daughter-in-law, Kareena Kapoor, wore on her D-day. Sharmila wore stunning bridal jewellery that not only matched with her outfit, but also added a royal charm to her look.

Bipasha Basu

Bipasha Basu, the bong beauty of India married her love, actor Karan Singh Grover on 30 April 2016. Although it was Karan’s third marriage, Bipasha didn’t let the negativity or ‘people’s saying’ ruin her D day. Bipasha opted to get hitched as a Sabyasachi bride. One of the Bollywood top heroines Deepika Padukone and versatile actor Ranveer Singh got hitched on 14 November 2018 in a lavish but private ceremony in Italy. Though everyone thought that her bridal wear was the creation of the famous designer Sabyasachi, it was later revealed to be a saree gifted by her mother as per the Konkani tradition. Deepika looked absolutely stunning in the bright red and gold saree which was said to be a designer saree bought in Angadi Galleria in Bengaluru. 

Gul Panag

The former Miss India, Gul Panag had a typical true blue Punjabi Sikh wedding ceremony on 13 March 2011, when she got married to her childhood friend, Captain Rishi Attari at a Gurudwara in Chandigarh. The model turned actress drove a bullet on her wedding day with her groom by her side. She wore an onion pink lehenga for her wedding day which was designed by JJ Vallaya. She also wore a heavy gold neckpiece, earrings and a maang tikka to go with it.

Neetu singh

The bubbly Neetu Singh, and debonair Rishi Kapoor make a perfect couple, both on- and off-screen. Though there is certainly a dearth of good quality photographs from Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor’s wedding on the Internet, we made special efforts to gather the best of the lot. Urmila Matondkar’s long due wedding was finally solemnized when she married Kashmir-based businessman and model Mohsin Akhtar Mir on 3 March, 2016. The low-key Hindu wedding saw the ‘Rangeela’ heroine wearing her favorite Manish Malhotra creation made in a tomato red heavily embroidered lehenga. She added it up with a maatha patti, nath and heavy gold jewellery with green

One of the best celebrity wedding dresses was worn by the beautiful actress, Asin who married her longtime beau, Micromax Co-Founder – Rahul Sharma on January 19, 2016 according to Christian as well as Hindu rites. The ‘Ghajini’ actress wore a golden Sabyasachi lehenga which complimented the grooms white sherwani. Of course, for the Christian wedding she wore a white gown.

Hema malini

Hema Malini and Dharmendra had quite a private wedding. It was a typical South Indian ceremony, where Hema wore a saree. She kept her look minimal, with a simple bridal jewellery set.

Geeta Basra

Bollywood actress Geeta Basra got hitched to longtime cricketer boyfriend, Harbhajan Singh in a typical Punjabi tradition in Jalandhar, Punjab on 29th October, 2015. Geeta wore a shining red lehenga with golden embroidery by designer Archana Kochar, while Harbhajan donned a white sherwani with a red coloured traditional Sikh turban. Geeta’s bridal outfit was accessorized by a ‘nath’, a ‘matha patti’ and a ‘tikka’ with a beautiful head dupatta to complete the ensemble.

Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit and Dr Sriram Nene got married in a hush-hush ceremony, but we have their wedding reception photographs here for you. Madhuri, looked stunning in golden ethnic wear, with elaborate and intricate work on it. She matched it with a net dupatta. This minimal look, combined with matching gold jewellery, made the diva look like a million bucks. What stood out in her look were those beautiful bangles that adorned her wrists.

Kajol

Kajol and Ajay Devgn tied the knot in a typical Maharashtrian ceremony, and Kajol looked every bit traditional in a green saree. Her look was complete with traditional bridal jewellery of the region, along with a nath, green chooda, and vaaki (armlet).

Soha Ali Khan married her longtime live-in boyfriend Kunal Khemmu in January 2015. Daughter of Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and sister of actor Saif Ali Khan, the Pataudi princess wore a pink Ritu Kumar kurta along with a pink dupatta and a maang tikka, while groom Kunal Khemmu donned a white embossed designer sherwani kurta.

 Sridevi looked like a traditional South Indian bride, given her bright saree and minimal jewellery. What stood out in her look, apart from her bubbly smile, was her deep red lip colour that just looked perfect with this traditional look.

Dia Mirza

Dia Mirza, the former Miss Asia-Pacific 2000 tied the knot to her long-time fiancé Sahil Sangha on 18 October 2014 at New Delhi’s Chattarpur farm. The beauty queen turned actress dazzled in a golden and greenish lehenga created by Shantanu and Nikhil for her wedding reception.

Twinkle khanna

Elder daughter of superstar Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia got married to casanova Akshay Kumar, in 2001. The actress stuck to a bride’s favourite colours- red and gold. She kept her bridal avatar minimal with simple jewellery, and just a statement maang teeka stole the limelight

Raveena, who was known for her whirlwind romance with Akshay Kumar, tied the knot with producer, Anil Thadani, in 2004. She too stuck to traditional Indian colours, but what stood out of her whole look was a full-sleeves choli. Given that the wedding took place in winters, it seemed like a smart decision, and a style statement for other brides to steal as well. She also wore a Punjabi chooda, and a deep red lip colour that looked stunning on her fair skin.

Kareena Kapoor

Talking about Bollywood celebrity bridal looks, Kareena Kapoor wins it hands down. The royal wedding between her and actor Saif Ali Khan which took place in 2012 had her donning three different outfits. The one which was talked the most was the wedding outfit which she wore was her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore’s wedding gharara, which was restored by designer Ritu Kumar.

Genelia D’Souza

Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh tied the knot on February 3, 2012. The couple had a Church as well as Maharashtrian wedding. Genelia wore a Neeta Lulla pink bridal saree, whereas for Riteish, he wore a designer sherwani along with a red Maharashtrian ‘pugree’.

Esha Deol

The elder daughter of Hema Malini and Dharmendra, Esha Deol tied the knot with businessman Bharat Takhtani in June, 2012. The ‘Dhoom’ actress wore a bright red and golden lehenga, designed by Neeta Lulla for her wedding day. Her lehenga, which was specially ordered from down south was a combination of three heavy Kanjeevaram sarees that was complemented by heavy traditional temple jewellery in gold.

Aishwarya Bachchan

Aishwarya wore a traditional, golden yellow Kanjeevaram saree on her D-day, complete with Swarovski crystals and gold thread work. The bridal saree was designed by Neeta Lulla. She kept her hair braided and covered with flowers. She wore 22 karat gold jewellery, which included a gold and emerald armband.

Shilpa Shetty

The Bollywood actress diva, Shilpa Shetty tied the knot with the London based business man Raj Kundra on November 22, 2009 in a traditional Hindu wedding. Hailing from a Manglorean family it had to be a traditional Mangalorean-style bridal outfit which was a burgundy and red coloured saree-style lehenga that was embellished with Swaroski crystals. Accompanied by heavy kundan jewellery accessories with braid covered flowers tied to her hair, it was as if she was shooting a wedding scene.

Malaika arora khan

We just could not miss out on this stunning white bride while talking about beautiful brides from B-town. Malaika, true to her image, chose an off-shoulder wedding gown, with a plunging neckline. The simple string of pearls added the right amount of oomph to her look.

Karisma Kapoor

Talking about celebrity wedding looks, actress Karisma Kapoor’s wedding to Delhi based business man in 2003 was a wedding to remember. The actress-bride selected a pink bridal wear that looked heavily attired in the elaborately embroidered lehenga choli, matching jewellery which was accompanied with traditional Chooda and Kalire. Anushka chose to wear a pale pink-coloured Sabyasachi lehenga that had renaissance embroidery on it. Theirs was a hush-hush wedding ceremony with only family members and a few friends in the presence. Preity wore a bright red lehenga with traditional embroidery in gold. Her wedding lehenga was designed by her favourite Manish Malhotra. She chose to wear jadau jewellery to complete her look.
